Me and My Beats

These images are advertisements for Dr.Dre Beat headphones. I think the white background in the top image is effective at making the product stand out, and red and white work well together. I also like the angle of view in the top image.

The bottom image uses a spotlight effect to highlight the product, and reminds me of a spotlight on a stage performer. This helps to show that this is a musical/entertainment product. The lighting also creates shadows around the base of the headphones. However, part of the product blends in with the black background, which means it doesn't stand out as well as the white background.

This is my my photo of beats
This my take on the images above. I first tried tungsten lighting but i didn't like because it made the background to dark and the out come wasn't to good. Then i used flash lighting to brighton up the background and used some fishing wirer to make it float. I then used Photoshop to take out the wirer by using the heal tool and the clone stamp. I like the final out come because the lighting makes it look like an advertisement for the Dr.Dre headphones.

This is one off my best images I have take because it looks like an advertisement image.

Hands and Feet

The image is by Mary Katherine Keown from a series of images. In the series, she wants to show that hands and feet can tell a story about a person's life.
I like this image because it show great detail and texture from the natural lighting.
I also like in black and white lighting to show the fine detail on the feet.

My Work

In this image I used flash lighting on F8 1/125s ISO 100.
The image was originally in colour, then on Photoshop I changed it to black and white to show more detail of the texture like in the image by Mary Katherine Keown.

Shoes

This image is used for an advisement for Nike.
In this image there is lots of after editing to make the shoes look like the floating in mid air.
What I like about this image is the color and the contrast to make the image bright.

 My work

This is the original image I took. The camera I used was a Canon Camera, with an aperture of f/5.6 for a crisp image. The light I used for this image is flash lighting with a soft box which is placed above to make it look soft and crisp.

My selfportrait

The lighting used in this image is called Rembrandt lighting.
The key light is coming from the right at a 45 degree angle to create the two face effect as well as a triangle on the darker side of the face under the eye.
The image is contrast that's why its darker on one side of the face, as i had no fill in light.

The technical details
The camera i used was a  Canon EOS 600D
The F number was 5.6
The exposure time was 1/50

Self Portraiture

 Research

This image is a self portrait of Brett Arthur.
He uses split lighting to create a two face effect.
The key light is coming from the top right.
I like the use of warm lighting in this image.
The subject is placed in the center of the frame.
